BECOMING A CHRISTIAN

A fundamental belief for The Dallas Project Church is also shared by the majority of Christians around the world: Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of humanity, is "the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to Father except by (Him)" (John 14:6, NKJV).

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17, NKJV).

It all started soon after the creation of our earth: Adam and Eve were tempted and sinned. Then we became a sin-infected race bent toward temptation and selfishness.

If that had remained our faith to see our own reflection and be distressed— the "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), and "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23, KJV).

GOD'S GIFT

But there's more to Romans 6:23, Yes, the wages of sin is death, ... "but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (vs. 23b, ESV).

In the New Testament, Paul writes, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8, ESV).

That's right, salvation is a gift. Available by way of God's grace.

MY RESPONSE

We're all sinners in need of a Savior. All we have to do is to put our faith in Christ Jesus, to say "I believe." It's simple and free. It just takes making that choice.

However, God doesn't just set us free from the consequences of sin; He invites us to be His own. And salvation is a process — a journey that starts from the moment of belief to the time the Lord returns.

Jesus told His followers to share the Good News with the entire world, teaching them and baptizing them (Matthew 28:19-20). When we are ready, we confess our sins and commit to follow Christ. He died for us so that all who accept His invitation can share eternal life with Him.
